BEATE GATSCHA |
| lives as a freelance dancer, choreographer and Taiko drummer in Berlin. After studies in Visual Arts and Music Ethnology she attended her training at Academy of Kathakdance and has studied with Ioanna Srinivasan, Pandit Vijai Shankar, Harish S. Gangani and Amala Patkar. Besides the classical Indian Kathak dance she learns several percussion instruments (Hang, Pakhavaj, Taiko), modern and ethnic dance styles and martial arts.As an innovator of a style of dance which includes choreographed percussion, graphic dance theatre, dance with masks and martial arts she created a large number of intercultural and interdisciplinary projects. She performes in close collaboration with the saxophone player Gert Anklam. In cooperation with national and international artists she performed in India, Switzerland, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Japan, USA and all over Germany, gave workshops and worked for theatre productions. |
